China heard a knock at the door. He sighed, ignoring it. Why can't Russia see that I don't want to talk to him? Nobody is that stupid to not be able to take hint so obvious! he thought, trying to drink a cup of tea. He couldn't taste it because of the guilt that wouldn't leave him alone. He walked over to the door, and opened it.
"China, da~! You finally opened the door!" Russia exclaimed, hugging China. China growled as he set him down. "Aru, Russia, you really need to learn to be more careful."
Russia walked inside, closing the door.
"Why are you even here?! What do you like so much about my house?!" China exclaimed as a picture hanging next to the door fell off the wall. "And be more careful when you close the door!"
"You don't yell as much as everyone at home does..." Russia said, looking down. "And when you do, it's kinda cute!"
China crossed his arms. He sighed. Then he realized what he just said. "People yell at you? I find that hard to believe..."
"Oh, they do! When Lithuania yells... Ugh. He usually acts really shy in public but he hurts my feelings at home..."
"Whatever. Just go watch T.V. or something." China said, walking to the kitchen.
He sat at the table again, drinking the rest of his tea. After a minute, he wondered if he should join Russia...
He stood up and walked to the living room, sitting down on the couch next to him. "Hi... Sorry if I seemed rude, aru."
Russia nodded, not saying anything. He stared at the T.V., silent.
"Well, if you need anything, just ask and I'll get it for you." China said quickly.
Russia nodded, not looking at China.
"Something wrong, aru?"
Russia was silent for a second. Then he said, "No."
China knew he was lying, but he ignored it, looking back at the T.V. "...Pretty colors." he said. Russia nodded.
China stared at the T.V., listening to the monotone beeping sound. Why is Russia watching this channel? he thought.
"I was wondering... How long am I allowed to stay here?" Russia asked quickly.
China narrowed his eyes. "Why?"
"Well... I don't want to go back home..." Russia said quietly.
"You can stay for a few hours, but that's all, ok?" China said.
"Alright..." Russia mumbled.
They sat there for a few minutes, until China started to get annoyed by the beeping noise. He looked at Russia. "Want some tea?"
Russia nodded. "Yes!"
China poured him some tea in a cup, and gave it to him. He leaned back on the couch.
"Uh, China..." Russia said after he finished drinking.
"Yes?"
Russia hesitated, not wanting to seem creepy. "Can I please sleep here tonight? I can sleep on the couch or even the floor if you want me to!" he said, sounding desperate.
"Why do you want to be here so much?" China asked, annoyed.
"I... I don't know. I'm really sorry for bugging you..." Russia sighed. "Everything I do seems to annoy everyone... Sorry."
"Wh-why don't you sleep at America's house, instead?" China asked, worried that he hurt his feelings.
"I don't really think he'll want me to. Don't worry about it! I can just sleep at my house, I guess." Russia said quickly.
"Aru, you're confusing. But ok, sleep at your house if you want to..." China said.
He turned the T.V. to a different channel. "Is that ok?" China asked.
"Sure." Russia said.
As China watched T.V., Russia wondered if sleeping at home might be a good idea. No... They may not be mad at me anymore, but... I just wish I wasn't so annoying to them... Everything I do seems to make them upset...
Just then, he felt his phone vibrate. He left the room, answering it. "...Hello?"
"Russia, I'm really sorry..." Lithuania said. "Can you please come home? I won't yell at you ever again, I promise!"
Russia stared at the ground for a second. He hung up his phone, sitting back on the couch. China wanted to ask who called him, but he realized that was a dumb question.
He folded his hands. "So... Russia..."
"Yus?"
"...I don't know." China said.
Russia laughed. "Everyone says that!"
China blushed. "Yeah... I'm not very good at starting conversations, ok?!" he growled. Russia laughed even more; China never realized how creepy it was. "I can see that; but don't worry, I have no problem with starting..."
They sat there in silence for a minute. Russia wanted to say something, but he couldn't. He looked down, his sad violet eyes not daring to look up.
"I... Well... I don't know..." Russia said.
"We both suck." China said.
Russia smiled, nodding. He stood up, walking to the other side of the room.
"I like your house... It reminds me of mine!" Russia said.
"Really? I don't see the resemblance."
"They're both beautiful. And so are you." Russia said calmly.
China flinched. "Aru?"
Russia smiled creepily, stepping closer to him. "You really are beautiful."
China blushed even more. "Th-thanks..." He stood up and awkwardly stepped around Russia. "I'll be right back..." he said, walking to the bathroom without looking away from Russia. When he was gone, the younger one smiled. "Adorable..."
When China returned, he gasped as he saw a broken vase on the ground.
"Um, your cat was laying on the floor, and I tripped over her..." Russia said, his voice shaking in fear. "I'm really sorry! I'll f-fix it, or maybe buy a new one, if I have enough money to!"
"Just go..." China growled, opening the front door. Russia nodded, his eyes dripping with tears as he left. The door slammed behind him.
China growled, cleaning up the broken vase. He wondered if he was too hard on him... No, no. He needs to learn to be more careful! Every time he comes over, he breaks something. Maybe it's because of his size. He's so giant, ugh... he thought.
*****
He woke up to a strange tapping sound... Ugh! Is that Russia? I told him to leave me alone! He knew he couldn't go back to sleep with the loud tapping noise. China sat up in his bed, stretching and yawning, and he went down the stairs.
"What is it, aru?" China growled as he opened the door.
Russia's was standing there. He has a blood stain on his coat. He panted heavily, putting his hand on the door to try to keep himself up.
"Russia, what's wrong?" China asked, stepping back. Russia fell forward, into China's arms. He gasped, trying to gently set him on the ground.
"L-lock the door..." he said, wheezing. "Please..."
China quickly obeyed, and looked down at Russia. "Are... are you ok?" he asked, helping him stand up. Russia shook his head. "Long story..." Russia fell forward onto China again, and luckily he was just barely strong enough to drag him. He brought him over to the couch.
He took out a blanket. He wrapped it around him. "What is wrong, aru?"
Russia shook his head. "I can't talk about..."
"Did someone try to hurt you?" China asked, even more worried.
"No... I'll explain in the morning..." he mumbled, closing his eyes. China really wanted to know, but he knew Russia was stubborn... He slowly unzipped his coat.
"What?!" Russia said, pushing his hand away.
"I wanted to see if there was a wound, aru!" China growled. "You have blood all over you!" "It's not mine. The only injuries I h-have are a black eye, and a few teeth were punched out..." Russia mumbled.
China sighed. "Not your blood? Don't tell me you got in a fight!!"
"I'll explain in the morning... I'm too tired to explain such a long story..." Russia whispered.
China sighed. "Fine. Do you need anything?"
"No... just let me sleep..." Russia sighed, closing his violet eyes.
China stood up. "Fine... Goodnight." he said, walking back to his bedroom, even though he knew it was impossible to sleep when he was so confused...
